We believe that if a community’s focus is strictly on care, they don’t care enough. At Thrive at Athens, great care is just a by-product of bigger and better things.
This isn’t a rest home. Residents here don’t rest unless they want to. Instead they spend time doing all the things they wanted to do but couldn’t, thanks to pesky interruptions (you know, a career, raising a family). They’ll make new friends, starting with our team members, who are dedicated to their every need. Here, their lives have value. We consider them heroes, because that’s exactly what they are.
We’re situated in Oconee County, on the west side of Athens, just off Highway 316. The property features all of the touches that make a community home – and what a gorgeous home it is. The building resembles a built-in lodge, made of stone and timber. Inside, there’s a stone fireplace most often surrounded by hands filled with warm coffee. And outside, you’ll find three separate lush courtyards.
If the need arises in the years to come, know that all of our team members are NIDE (National Institute for Dementia Education) certified, which is a mouthful to say, but simply means that our team members are prepared and qualified to interact with your loved one as a unique human being, not a case study. Come visit us. We’re conveniently located near the heart of Athens, but miles off the beaten path from traditional senior living communities.
Thrive team members (employees) come to work each day to build long lasting friendships with our Elders. Many of our key leaders bring valuable experience to our industry from other fields. Simply put, our leaders believe that if we treat our team well, they will, in turn, love our residents well.
Careful cultivator of leaders and teams. Ace problem solver. Family facilitator. Optimist. Biased mom to the world’s two best kids. Jamma grandma. Lover of anything with two wheels or four hooves. Thunderstorm sleeper.
Motivator & Mediator. Family & Friend supporter. Cheer Mom. Aficionado of the arts. Photoshop queen. Can burn a pizza, but make a mean crème brulee.
We have two living options under one roof.
Assisted Living is ideal for residents who value their independence, but may need assistance with daily activities. Our community team members are raving fans of encouraging independence with assistance readily accessible at all times of day.
Memory Care is for our Elders who are living with some form of memory loss. Every member of the Thrive at Athens team is NIDE (National Institute for Dementia Education) certified. That includes everyone from the chefs and housekeepers to the concierge and nurses. The education allows us to interact with our memory care residents as unique individuals rather than objects in need of care. Residents are engaged with the goal of helping them recapture moments of memories and the recognition of loved ones.
